Agape Church is a community of believers located in Mill Park which is in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. We are a church with heart, changing the world through unconditional love, first in our home and then in our community.
Our passion and mission as a church is to embody the unconditional love of God and spread it to each person what we come in contact with. A church where the Love of God is prominent, the infallible Word of God is taught and the Spirit of God is in control.
Scripture tells us that God is love (1 John 4:8, 16). As the Triune God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit have freely shared their perfect love and fellowship within the Godhead eternally, and by God’s own free choice, He elects to share that same love with humanity through Jesus Christ, who is the elect man on behalf of all humanity.
Our Vision
Our vision is to reach out to all God’s beloved people, share the Good News with them, help them grow in their faith and knowledge of the truth of God, and to lead them into full spiritual maturity and guide them to holiness as Jesus has shown us. It is our vision that the church will continue to “be rooted, grow and be fruitful” in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Our Mission: Our mission is to serve God and others for the glory of God’s name, and to carry out the new command given to us by Jesus Christ which is to “love one another as I have loved you” (John 13:34) – that is with Agape love.
Our Doctrine: Agape Church’s main doctrine is founded on Jesus Christ’s teachings. The New Testament, we think, is a Covenant of Grace. As a result of the Cross and what Jesus did on it, God’s grace was extended to all mankind. As the act of grace and love, the Son of God is elected to give Himself to become united with the Son of Man for the specific purpose to save sinful humans. He reaches down to pull humans to Himself. The Son of God empties and humbles Himself so that humans may be united in fellowship with God (see Phi. 2:6-8; John 17:22-24).
We believe in a church which welcomes, accepts and serves all people. We do not discriminate on any level, including: economic power, gender, gender identity, mental health, mental ability, physical ability, race or sexuality.
We support people in their personal journey. Following Jesus is exciting, transforming and challenging. We help people to respond creatively to God as they express his love through local and international projects, the arts and community involvement.
One key way we serve God is by strengthening and building up the body of believers. We must decide not to destroy, but to build each other up. As individual believers grow strong, so does the larger body of Christ.
Our shared values enable our church to become the tree Jesus talked about in his parable: a place where people can shelter in its branches, experience the transforming power of God’s love and take this message out to the world.
We have one service which starts at 10:00 am on a Sunday at 11 Mill Park Drive, Mill Park and the service goes for approx. 90 minutes.
We recommend gathering with us on Sundays for at least a month to get a feel of what the church community is like. If you have a family, join in with the kids and/or youth ministry. There are also opportunities during the week to gather with us for Prayer meetings. If it feels like this church could be home for you, we invite you to Join Us.
Everyone is invited to attend church, and there is no admission fee. We do receive a free-will offering as part of our service. But no one is under any obligation to provide it, and you are free to ignore it.
